DE BRUYCKER Jules, (Ghent 1870 - 1945)
Draughtsman, water painter, etcher. Student at the Aka in Ghent (L. Tytgadt). Considered one of the greatest engravers of last century. He worked a lot in his hometown, but also in London (emigrated 1914-1918).
He has illustrated, among others, "En ville morte" by Franz Hellens, and "De legende van Ulenspiegel en Lamme Goedzak" by Charles De Coster.
He was a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. Many of his works can be found in numerous museums and print rooms.
